After School Art Klass offers students healthy mental and scholastic development through mental and visual stimulation. As children learn to draw, paint and sculpt, they reinforce connections in their brains and train their minds to be more perceptive and flexible.
Children feel encouraged and successful in the After School Art Klass environment. As an instructor I practice positive classroom techniques. Students are encouraged and supported in the learning process.
My vision is to encourage and promote participation in the visual arts for children and teenagers. Exploring art mediums and personal and group expression through those mediums is a healthy outlet for today’s busy and sometimes stressful lives of children.
In the past 4 years I have had the pleasure of teaching art with the Twenty First Learning Centers in Newport, Toledo, and Waldport. I have studied art at Portland Community College, Portland State, and Oregon Coast Community. Currently I sell my hand painted cards in the shops on the Bayfront. Newport has been my home for the past 30 years, where my husband and I have a successful business . We have raised three children here and are committed to this community.
