The Lincoln Pops Orchestra, also known as the Lincoln Pops Big Band, has evolved into one of the finest big bands in Oregon, playing both concert performances and dances. A non-profit organization, the Lincoln Pops are dedicated to preserving and passing along the heritage of the big band era, and plays concert performances as well as dances.
Members include current and retired professional musicians, band directors, former high school and college players, and even a few talented local high school students. And every big band needs a great vocalist; we have three. You’ll love them.
We currently play one engagement a month at the Gleneden Beach Community Hall and another at The ARK in Newport’s Art Deco District, as well as two concert performances in August of each year at the Newport Performing Arts Center. The Gleneden dance is on the third Thursday of each month, with one month off – either December or January. The ARK dance is on a Saturday. Check with us for exact dates and times. The band is also available for a limited number of private engagements.
Come dance with us or just enjoy listening to the rich sounds of big band jazz. Refreshments are available.
