The Lincoln County Foundation is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the service of the people of Lincoln County, particularly the young people. We specialize in administering scholarships for graduating seniors from Lincoln County high schools but can administer any kind of charitable fund. Many of our funds are known as “pass-through” donations, where the donor receives tax credit for donations and the fund is distributed for charitable purposes stipulated by the donor. We also carry several endowment funds where the earnings are distributed for charitable purposes. We have extremely low overhead expenses because all of our administrative work is done by volunteers. Ninety-nine percent of donations go to charitable purposes because we hire no staff or fund-raising companies. We funded $120,000 in scholarships and grants in fiscal 2008. We are recognized by the Oregon Cultural Trust.
