The Oregon Coast Chamber Music Society (OCCMS) exists to: bring chamber music back into the home where it began; to enhance cultural education through music in an intimate setting; to support local and oregon musicians or those with close ties to Oregon; and to assist aspiring musicians of all ages.
After not quite 2 seasons and 9 home concerts we have a mailing list of over 100; are being sought after by audience and musicians alike; and have come under the fiscal sponsorship of the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA).
Our goals go beyond house concerts. We hope to establish a fund to assist aspiring musicians of all ages. We hope to link students and teachers giving aid to both where needed. We also hope to set up a Friday session in a school music room with students closely interacting with the musicians who would perform in a home the next day.
