Lyn Lasneski was born at Madigan Army Hospital in the Northwest, her first crib was a bottom drawer of a clothes dresser and her favorite childhood memories are of her family camping in the Pacific Northwest.
In 1982 Lyn moved to Alaska. Working as a bush pilot and flight instructor led to many interesting and beautiful experiences and a GREAT love for nature. It was in Alaska Lyn first tried her hand at oil painting. Like most artists’ she had been fascinated by art all her life; but lacked the conviction she could capture on canvas the beauty she enjoyed in her outdoor adventures. That first painting changed all that.
In 1994 she moved to the Oregon Coast, continuing to work as a flight instructor to supplement her income; she began to study and immerse herself in oil painting, especially the sea…
She believes EVERYONE is creative, and today teaches workshops in creativity, “Mastery of the Fundamentals”, composition, color, techniques, etc.
“I’m constantly striving for mastery in my work, Capturing the truly beautiful in art can be as difficult as mastering an airplane; yet I believe it’s possible ANYONE can learn to do beautiful, incredible works of art with study, training, practice, and lot’s of it.”
