Lincoln County Cultural Coalition Hosts Nonprofit Grant Workshops

November 5, 2009

The Lincoln County Cultural Coalition, in partnership with the Oregon Cultural Trust, is pleased to offer a basic in grant writing for Lincoln County nonprofit organizations – “Grant Eligibility and Skills Workshop.”

Two local afternoon workshops are planned for Wednesday, November 18, 12:30-4:00 pm, Toledo Public Library Conference Room and Thursday, November 19, 12:30-4:00 pm, Lincoln City Cultural Center Conference Room. (Both workshops are the same, so just choose one.)

These workshops are structured to help people who find themselves in the role of grant writer to understand the “big picture” of nonprofit grant writing systems and to practice with the different elements of writing a grant.

Each session (the same material will be presented in both workshops) will cover the minimal requirements and best practices for writing successful grants.

Dr Meredith Howell leads both workshops. She has assisted small and mid-size nonprofits and schools across Oregon to build sustainable programming and help match funding resources to program ideas. Dr. Howell is currently a contracted grant writer for Financial Stewardship Resources, Inc, the Philomath School District and Philomath Community Services.

Organizations are encouraged to bring more than one board member, staff or volunteer from each organization. Also, please bring a proposal that you’re currently working on or ideas for proposals that you’d like to start.

A minimal $10.00 fee per participant or a $25.00 fee for an organization (three participants) is requested. Early registration is encouraged by November 16 due to limited meeting space. Light refreshments served.

Please call the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts, 265-2787 to make your reservations.
